Trademe has many rules when sending listings to its website. When you get a TM error message it will appear on your screen. You can also check in your changes on the Listing > Changes tab
IMPORTANT: If you get any error messages from the Trademe website your Listing will not update.
i.e. If you get the error message "You can't change to that category" then the listing will not be updated. e.g. If you have loaded an Open Home it will not updated becuase of the error message.

Here are some of the error messages that you might get;
Agent branding
The agent branding API is not supported for your membership type
Problem: You have connected yor Tm account to your personal Tm account.
Solution: login into Tm with with your company or office Tm account and re link OSL to your Tm account
Generating the XML document
Tm cant accept text like this "The generously proportioned conservatory serves as the pièce de résistance, providing versatile living options."
This would mean that you have probably copied the advertisement from somewhere.
Solution remove the adcopy and paste again using Ctrl + Shift + V
Duplicate images
You have the same photo attached more than once
You cannot send the same image (duplicate images) up to Tm on the one listing.
Solution: Open your Listing and the Images window
Listing category changed
Listing NOT updated Sorry, you cannot change your listing to that category.
This is the most common error message and happened when the Listing category is changed after the listing has been sent to Tm.
TM does not allow you to change the Listing Type or Category after it has been on TM for more than 14 days.
Solution : Change the listing back to the listing category that is already on Tm.
Cannot downgrade a listing
Listing not updated you cannot downgrade a listing to basic
This happens when you go directly to TM to mark a listing as a feature listing BUT do not update the listing in OSL Office.
ANS. Mark the listing as a feature listing and save.
Location /Suburb changed
Listing NOT updated For Location : You cannot change the Location on an extended classified that is more than 14 days old.
TM does not allow you to change the Address of a Listing after it has been on TM for more than *14* days. You can contact TM and ask them to change the category and then come back into OSL and change the category
or copy the listing to a new listing and send up in the correct category/type.
Solution : Change the listing back to the listing suburb that is already on Tm.
House number and street name
For the category House you must enter a valid house number
Not the seller of this listing
Listing *NOT* updated, You are not the seller of this listing.
* This message can also be displayed when the listing has previously been withdrawn from TM and now the client is trying to re-list the listing
ANS. The OSL helpdesk has to remove the web listing delete record and try again
* This happens when your TM credentials or TM account has changed.
Relist a listing previously withdrawn
Listing *NOT* updated, You cannot relist a listing that was withdrawn by the seller.
This can happen when the listing has been removed from TM and then sent up again
Solution. OSL - Remove listing from web listing and then re submit to TM
Session has expired
Listing NOT updated Your session has expired. Please log in again
Your TM secure token is no longer working TM may have removed
Solution. Re link your Tm account to OSL.

Socket Error
Listing NOT deleted. Socket Error # 10054 Connection reset by peer
ANS. Open the listing > Internet tab and un-click the trademe website.
YouTube video is not valid
This YouTube video is not valid. Check video key and that the video is not restricted or private.
ANS. This is because on your youtube account restrictions have been applied to your video. Manage restrictions on your videos "more...":https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9668091?hl=en
If you have checked your video and it plays ok, then you should contact the Tm helpdesk directly.
This error message from Tm is somewhat misleading becuase the issue appears to be a caching problem at the Tm end.
This is the response that we have had from Tm with this error message...
"Have had a look into this one and could see that the video link data just needed to be cached on our end, which I have done now. The video has now been updated to the new link"
